Norfolk probed over how it will repay Government grant for scrapped scheme

Norfolk County Council has been challenged by opposition councillors to explain how “millions” spent on a scrapped road plan would be repaid. Last month the Conservative-run council withdrew its plans for the Norwich Western Link dual carriageway after being unable to overcome obstacles relating to the conservation of bat roosts (LTT907).

Opposition councillors said the authority could have to repay the £33m the Government provided for the scheme.
