Highland Council finds savings from operating bus services with in-house resources

Highland Council is likely to have saved £2.5m in the first two years of operating bus services with in-house resources, instead of awarding contracts to commercial operators as previously. The council is conducting a review of setting up an arm’s length bus company but has no timescale for presenting any proposals.
