New airport owners face business rates leap

Heathrow is set to face a £100m annual rise in business rates from 2026, as a new calculation formula kicks in. The charge has been estimated to leap from £200m to £300m over three years starting in 2026. Heathrow is already the UK’s largest business rates payer.
