Progress on cutting road deaths and casualties has stalled since 2010, says PACTS

Five people die on the UK’s roads every day, with more than 30,000 killed or seriously injured annually, amounting to a societal and economic cost of about £43.5bn each year. These are the highlight figures in a new document from the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS), which notes that progress in reducing road traffic deaths and serious injuries in the UK has stalled since 2010.
