City of London unit issues nearly 1,000 fines to errant cyclists

Nearly 1,000 cyclists have been issued with fixed penalty notices in the City of London for going through red lights or putting themselves and pedestrians at risk. Since the team of the City of London Police’s Cycle Response Unit in July 2023, 944 fixed penalty notices have been issued.

The Cycle Response Unit has also: seized 192 illegal e-bikes and e-scooters; made 80 arrests; and given “key advice and guidance” to 8,663 people.
