Alex Hynes is taking on the role of Director General, Rail Services at the DfT. His remit will involve uniting the oversight of track and train while leveraging private sector innovation and expertise under Great British Railways (GBR).
Haynes, who will begin a two-year secondment from Network Rail in April, has led Scotland’s Railway, overseeing Network Rail Scotland and ScotRail, since 2017.
