Northern Ireland Infrastructure Minister John O’Dowd not only favours reopening of the railway between Portadown and Londonderry via Omagh and Strabane but also envisages it as a 125mph route. This is the same maximum speed as on the West Coast, East Coast and Great Western main lines.
