Amount needed to fix backlog of road repairs rises to £16.3bn

More than half of the road network in England and Wales have less than 15 years’ structural life remaining, with the amount needed to fix the backlog of repairs reaching a record high of £16.3bn. This is among the key findings in the Annual Local Authority Road Maintenance (ALARM) survey report, published by the Asphalt Industry Alliance (AIA).
