York's city centre Blue Badge parking ban lifted

Restricted access to the city centre of York for disabled drivers has been lifted. The restrictions were first introduced in 2019 as an anti-terrorism measure. They were made permanent in 2021 by the previous Liberal Democrat/Green-run council, but attracted strong opposition from disability groups.
