ORR improves accounting for split ticketing in station usage estimates

New data analysis methods have helped reorder the list of Britain’s busiest stations, with London’s Liverpool Street now at the top of the list, helped by the popularity of the Elizabeth line. The Office of Rail and Road has improved its statistical methods to account for the impact of split ticketing on estimates of station usage. The recently released 2022/23 statistics also reflect improved methods of allocating journeys to “London Terminals”.
