The Welsh government has acknowledged that the first data from the new Welsh National Travel Survey (WNTS) is due to be published in early 2026, although some of the targets it was meant to monitor relate to 2025.
It is now apparent that a ‘data void’ has opened up in Wales since it withdrew from the established English and Welsh National Travel Survey ten years ago.
