German shared micromobility provider Tier is to lay off 140 employees after admitting that 2023 has been a “difficult year”. This represents roughly 22% of the firm's combined Central and Regional workforce in a number of countries including the UK.
The latest redundancies were announced on LinkedIn by chief executive Lawrence Leuschner. He blamed the job cuts on high inflation and the cost of living crisis, and the knock-on impacts of reduced consumer demand.
