The cost of building two rail stations in Walsall looks set to increase by £15.43m after the collapse of the original contractor delayed the project by more than a year. Earlier this year the plans were thrown into doubt when the Buckingham Group went into administration. Kier Transportation then bought Buckingham's rail division. But the suspension of work to the projects, and agreeing a new deal with Kier, has pushed up the budget.
