Swift and Breeze hailed as MaaS models

Solent Transport and supplier Trafi launched the UK’s first regional MaaS solution last year. The platform connects public transport and shared mobility services across the Solent Region on England’s south coast, including the cities of Portsmouth, Southampton, and Isle of Wight, comprising 1.3 million people

Though a number of MaaS tech platforms have been offered to bring together travel planning and payment into one app, few schemes have found a sustainable business model to do so. DfT quotes as examples the platform Swift operating in the West Midlands, which it claims to be the largest smart ticketing scheme outside London, and the Breeze App at Solent Transport.
