The Bicycle Association issued a statement this month to reassure consumers on e-bike safety, following reports of fires related to e-scooter and e-bike batteries.
The statement comes amid growing concern that types of electrically powered bicycles which cannot be ridden legally on UK public roads could be tarnishing the reputation of pedal-assist e-bikes which are certified and legal on public infrastructure (LTT871).
