Welsh bus emergency scheme gets three-month reprieve

The Bus Emergency Scheme (BES) revenue support mechanism in Wales has been granted an extension of three months beyond its planned end at the end of March. It will now run to around the end of June after discussions that included the Welsh Government and operators and their representatives.

Announcement of the extension came with acknowledgement by all parties “to start to transition away from emergency style funding.”
