Councils given two months to prepare ‘stable and resilient’ bus networks

Guidance on planning for the bus networks required in England after emergency Covid-related support to operators ends has been issued by the DfT. It is a condition of Bus Recovery Grant (BRG) Extension funding. 

It gives just two months for local transport authorities to work out the implications for their bus plans of the recent distribution of Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) money, which more than half of them (48 out of 79) failed to secure (LTT 8 April).
