Bus services will vanish without more emergency funds, says UTG

Some bus services will disappear and fares will increase if the DfT does not extend emergency support for at least another year, the Urban Transport Group (UTG) has warned.

New research – by consultants Steer for the UTG – suggests that bus usage levels in city regions outside London could be up to 30% lower than pre-Covid levels without continued emergency funding, which is due to expire on 5 April.
