World leaders, scientists, businesses and campaigners gathered in Glasgow last month the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, commonly referred to as COP26. The event concluded with nearly 200 countries agreeing to keep the ambition of limiting global temperatures to 1.5oC alive and finalised the outstanding elements of the Paris Agreement. Climate negotiators ended two weeks of intense talks on 13 November with a consensus on urgently accelerating climate action.
