West Midlands Metro extension delayed

The opening of the latest extension to the West Midlands Metro has been delayed until early next year. The second phase of the Birmingham Westside extension to Edgbaston was due to have opened this month.

The Midland Metro Alliance, which is building the new line, is currently carrying out the finishing touches to the Metro extension which runs from Centenary Square to Edgbaston. But problems with the fleet of trams appears to have been the main cause of the delay.
