Independent train operators call for fair access to network

Representatives of train operators that are not under contract to the DfT say their access to the rail network must not be diminished after Great British Railways takes over from Network Rail (LTT 31 May).

As well as managing and operating infrastructure, GBR will specify timetables and be responsible for the Passenger Service Contracts which will replace rail franchises in England. The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) expects that those operators may not pay GBR for access to tracks and stations,...
