Transport for the North has appointed Martin Tugwell as its new chief executive, succeeding Barry White who stepped down last week.
Tugwell is currently programme director of the England’s Economic Heartland, whose strategic transport forum is the non-statutory sub-national transport body (STB) for a large part of central southern England, stretching from Swindon and Oxfordshire in the west to Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire in the east.
