Highways England has awarded Skanska a £507m design and build contract for the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet improvement scheme, which will improve journeys between Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridgeshire.
The ten-mile dual carriageway will connect the A1 Black Cat roundabout in Bedfordshire to the A428 Caxton Gibbet roundabout in Cambridgeshire. This is the only remaining section of single carriageway between Milton Keynes and Cambridge.
