Franchising for buses ‘will need subsidy’

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority has given more detail about why it is unable to make the case for bus franchising, despite it being the authority’s preferred option. 

The difficulties of constructing a business case for franchising were mentioned in a report presented last month by councillor Anne Hay, chair of the combined authority’s bus review task and finish group (LTT 05 Mar).
