Energy giant Shell has pledged to become a net zero carbon dioxide energy business by 2050. The company said its oil production peaked in 2019 and was now likely to decline by 1-2 per cent a year. It estimates its total carbon emissions peaked in 2018 at 1.7 gigatonnes per annum.
