The City of York Council is being urged to allow bicycle couriers engaged in food deliveries to cycle through the city’s pedestrianised streets.
The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain has written to the council requesting a free permit scheme allowing couriers to use the city’s ‘footstreets’ when on their way to pick up/deliver takeaway food.
