The volume of road traffic was about two-thirds of pre-Covid levels at the start of this week, as the nationwide lockdown to limit transmission of the virus continued.
Data for Monday 1 February shows:
Road traffic was 66 per cent of the equivalent day in February 2020
Car traffic was at 59 per cent, van traffic 81 per cent, and HGV traffic 98 per cent
Rail patronage was just 12 per cent of the equivalent week in 2020
Bus patronage outside London was 28 per cent of the equivalent day in...
