Conservative councillors have called for temporary bus lanes on two roads in Chester to be scrapped, blaming them for adding to the city’s congestion.
The lanes for buses and cyclists were implemented by Labour-controlled Chester and Cheshire West Council last summer on the A51 Boughton corridor and A5116 Liverpool Road using experimental traffic regulation orders. Funding came from the DfT’s Emergency Active Travel Fund.
