Pedestrianisation study for Newbury

West Berkshire Council is to explore permanently banning road vehicles from streets in Newbury town centre. Six streets already operate as pedestrianised zones (with limited exemptions) between 10.00 and 17.00. The restrictions were extended to 24 hours a day between June and September last year in response to Covid-19. A forthcoming study of the town centre will explore the case for introducing permanent restrictions that would be operational 24 hours a day. ...
