Green number plates can now be used on zero emission vehicles across the UK. The new plates will make it easier to identify vehicles as zero-emission, and allow drivers to benefit from local initiatives such as cheaper parking and free entry into clean air zones, said the DfT.
The plates can be retro-fitted to any existing vehicles, including cars, vans, buses, HGVs, taxis and motorcycles as long as they emit no CO2 emissions at the tailpipe.
