Transport for London is looking more favourably at the use of automatic numberplate recognition (ANPR) cameras to enforce ‘low traffic neighbourhood’ residential street closures after the emergency services expressed concern that bollards and planters hamper their ability to reach emergencies.
Boroughs were originally told that TfL would not fund ANPR cameras as an enforcement tool for LTNs.
