TfL trials ban on front door bus boarding

18 April 2020

Transport for London is trialling banning passenger boarding through the front doors of buses to reduce the risk of bus drivers being exposed to Covid-19. The trial of boarding through the door in the middle of the vehicle began last week on several Abellio routes that operate out of the Walworth bus garage in south London. Across the London bus fleet, TfL has installed clear film to cover holes in the drivers’ protective screen, and installed signs discouraging the use of seats near the driver.
