No CAZ for Coventry as city wins battle with Government

Coventry: compliance date accelerated, but it’s unclear why

 

Coventry City Council will not have to implement a charging clean air zone, after winning its battle with the Government. 

Coventry was ordered by ministers to develop a plan to tackle nitrogen dioxide exceedances. The Labour-controlled council proposed a package of traffic management measures, saying this could deliver compliance in 2024, the same year that a Class D clean air zone (CAZ) covering cars and other vehicles would deliver compliance (LTT 01 Mar 19).
