Unitaries spend little on cycling

A sample of English unitary councils have spent on average just £2 per head of population annually on cycling infrastructure over the last ten years, according to research by Nottingham Business School. Researchers Seamus Allison and Aoife Allison made freedom of information requests to English unitaries, requesting data on populations served, total spend on road transport projects and total spend on cycling infrastructure projects.
