Many towns are public transport ‘deserts’

Many small towns in England are public transport deserts, according to a report for countryside charity CPRE. 

The Campaign for Better Transport looked at settlements  in North East and South West England with 5,000-30,000 population. They were scored for bus  frequencies to a major settlement; rail services; coach services; timetabled community transport and on-demand services; taxi/ride sharing; ferries; and light rail.
