Coaches lose parking near Parliament

Westminster City Council removes bays after calls to stop idling were ignored

Coach parking spaces are being removed on a road near the Houses of Parliament as part of an anti-idling campaign. Westminster City Council said that coach drivers have ignored repeated warnings to turn off their engines while parked.

The three coach spaces on Horseferry Road are close to nurseries, schools and local gardens. A council spokesman said complaints were received “from local residents and from air quality marshals who regularly patrol hotspots like this to request that drivers...
