Road traffic volumes in Great Britain grew slightly in 2018, according to the DfT’s annual Transport Statistics GB.
An estimated 328.1 billion vehicle miles were driven on Britain’s roads in 2018, up from 327.1 billion in 2017. Cars accounted for 78 per cent of vehicle miles, vans 16 per cent and lorries five per cent.
