Tories pledge £4.2bn for public transport

The Conservatives this week pledged a £4.2bn Local Public Transport Fund for buses, trains and light rail if they win the General Election next week.  

The party said the cash would become available from 2022, and would be funded by the party’s decision not to cut corporation tax.
