Reading Borough Council has filled a £3m funding gap for a new rail station at Green Park on the Reading-Basingstoke line. The cost of the station has risen from £17m to £20.1m. Reading has secured an extra £2.5m from the Government’s New Stations Fund and £550,000 from the Local Growth Fund.
