Councillors in York have approved the expansion of a village signed-only 20mph scheme following the end of a moratorium on introducing the lower limits.
York’s Labour administration rolled out 20mph limit across much of the area in the early 2010s. A ban on further 20mph schemes was introduced by the subsequent Conservative administration. The ban has now been lifted by the Liberal Democrat/Green coalition that has controlled the council since May.
