Scots councils granted power to run buses

Local authorities in Scotland will be able to run their own bus services in a wide range of circumstances following the passing of amendments to the Transport (Scotland) Bill this month.  

The Scottish Parliament has approved the Bill, which includes a wide range of powers on topics such as low emission zones, bus franchising, a workplace parking levy, and pavement parking.
