Electric cars sales boom but are still regarded by some as “disappointing”

Sales of electrically-powered cars in the UK are either booming or disappointing in 2019, depending on which paper you read. The Guardian, on 5 September, for example, noted that: “The Tesla Model 3 has rapidly become the UK’s third most popular new car as sales of electric vehicles overall doubled in the past year.

“New owners registered 2,082 Tesla Model 3 cars in August, according to data published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT),” the paper...
