Direct Action climate group Extinction Rebellion (XR) is demanding that newspapers stop advertising new cars and flights.
The group this week issued nine demands that it wants all newspapers to sign up to:
Editor and senior deputies to meet deputation from local/national XR group
Newspaper to declare a climate/ecological emergency in papers
Prioritise editorial resources to enable increased reporting on the crisis
Immediately drop adverts from fossil fuel companies
