The Health and Safety Executive is not ruling out action to ensure the safety of hydrogen filling stations in the UK, once the cause of an explosion at a Norwegian hydrogen station last month is understood (LTT 21 Jun).

The explosion at Kjørbo caused no direct injuries but the blast was powerful enough to trigger airbags in nearby cars that injured three occupants. The explosion happened at 17.40 and the fire was not contained until 20.00.
