It’s a bit surreal isn’t it? Labour is promising £1.35bn to reinstate rural bus services withdrawn because of austerity (‘Labour: £1.3bn a year for buses’ LTT 26 Apr). Simply reintroducing them won’t make them pay their way: most of these services have been loss-making for ever.
