Most of the really big ones have affected rail schemes, for instance: the delay and cost overruns to Crossrail; last year’s new timetable meltdowns on Northern and Thameslink; the mushrooming cost and delays to Great Western railway electrification; the unravelling of Network Rail’s enhancement programme; and, going back a little further to 2012, the collapse of the DfT’s West Coast Main Line...
