Swindon Borough Council is to bid to the Government’s £675m Future High Street fund for cash to turn a dual carriageway road between the rail station and town centre into a ‘bus boulevard’.
The council wants £25m to help turn Fleming Way into a bus interchange, which would allow the nearby “tired, poor quality” existing bus station to be redeveloped as part of the larger mixed use Kimmerfields development.
