The transport levy paid by the seven local authorities in the north-east of England will be cut by 1.1 per cent (£882,000) in 2019/20, from £83.65m this year to £82.77m. About £54.9m (66 per cent) is spent on concessionary travel (£51.3m for the statutory scheme and £3.7m for discretionary add-ons), and £15.5m on subsidised bus services....
