A flyover on a major radial road in the north of Birmingham looks set to be demolished as part of a redevelopment plan. 

The city council is to consult on demolishing the A34 Perry Barr flyover as part of proposals to build a Commonwealth Games athletes village – Birmingham is the host city in 2022 – and make wider improvements for active travel in the area. 

The flyover carries traffic  between Walsall and Birmingham over the intersection with the A453 from Sutton...
