Nottingham city Council has outlined how it plans to introduce contactless ticketing on buses and trams, with daily and weekly fare capping, from 2020.
Councillors were briefed this week about the £3.4m project, part-funded by a £2.4m grant from the DfT’s National Productivity Investment Fund.
Bus operator Nottingham City Transport (NCT), as the operator with the largest market share, will act as lead contractor, receiving £1.364m for a back office system.
